Butch Goodwin

His story:

“I have aphasia and had a stroke. I worked at Walmart as a warehouse manager selector in the freezer.

After my aphasia, I couldn’t work any more at my job. I participate in Zoom Brooks Aphasia Center, Virtual Connections, Aphasia Forward, Bible Study, Conversation Group, Yoga Community Group, Sing and Dance, Mission SPEAKs and Sing Aphasia.

I am active with many friends and family members. I enjoy traveling, sports, music and entertainment.

I have Broca’s Aphasia and apraxia. My speech is non-fluid but I have good understanding. I have trouble repeating phrases and sentences. It’s hard to read and write as well. My goal is to be able to have conversations with my friends … practice, practice and practice.”

Butch hosts the “Sing and Dance” group.

He lives in Florida.
