Anyone living with aphasia is welcome to join our groups.
Family members, caregivers and supporters are also welcome to learn more about the community.

All of our groups take place online so participants can join from anywhere via Zoom. We have members connection from across the United States, from Alaska to Florida, as well as Canada.

We offer groups Monday through Friday at various times throughout the week. Check the list of scheduled groups here.

Our groups include people at many different communication levels. Everyone is encouraged to participate at their own pace.
Some members speak a lot. Some speak a little. Some mostly listen. All are welcome.

Aphasia Forward is completely volunteer-run and free to attend.

We try to keep groups small in order to keep the environment from being overwhelming and to allow everyone an opportunity to participate. Most groups have between 4 to 8 participants.

Each group is facilitated by one or more hosts who are also living with aphasia. Activities may include:
reading together
conversation practice
discussing books or news
storytelling
listening to music
games and social activities
The goal is to practice communication and support one another in a relaxed environment.
