Her story:

“I was getting my Master of Education, and I was so excited that I would be teaching my own classroom in a year.

In the middle of the night in October 2020, my stroke hit. I remembered that my family was saying my name for a few seconds, but I was unconscious for 36 hours. I was in the hospital and rehabilitation hospital for 18 days because my leg was good enough to go home. But my speech, spelling, writing, and arm are a different story entirely and started out patient speech, physical, and occupational therapy. 

I’m now doing Zoom calls M-F each week to practice. I have made very good friends along the way, too!”
