Her story:

“In 2008 I received my master of arts in teaching in which my major was educational leadership. In November of 2009, I was just promoted to principal. January 28, 2010, my world changed forever. I had an AVM (Arteriovenous malformation). After six hours of surgery and nine months of rehabilitation, I was on my way to living my new normal. When I learned about Boston University Aphasia Resource Center, it changed my life. It introduced me to people with Aphasia. The support of the groups has been a life changer for me to say the least. Since retiring, I have been an active advocate for people with aphasia.”
